Hi! I've been wanting to show my boyfriend this game for ages but haven't been able to download it correctly. I tought I'd give it a go again with your tutorial because it seemed very clear, but had some doubts it would work because I have Windows 7 and do not understand at all how to install things.

I've done everything you said and checked the config file. An important change is that my games folder is called C:\Users\Aralais\Saved Games, but I used the same name for every step of the tutorial. I am writing from Mexico and don't know if that makes any difference.
Well anyway the problem is that dosbox seems to be having issues recognizing my C:\ unit because it says

Z:\>c:
Drive C does not exist!
You must mount it first. Type intro or intro mount for more information
Z:\>carmen
Illegal command: carmen.

I don't know what to do! Help!!

The game works fine for me. The only problem is, it asks questions at the end of each case and you have to reference from a Desk File or Encyclopedia. How do we get past that or is it a missing file in the zip folder?

I followed your instructions like you said but when I open the dosbox.exe it says:
- Illegal command: carmen

*Note: Just in case, yes I extracted the zip file into the "C:\Games\CarmenWorld"
therefore the folder "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego" is there....so, what would you recommend me?
*Note: Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you...I'm using a Linux S.O.(ubuntu 10.4)

hi.im trying to run where in the world is carmen sandiego using vista.i followed all ur instructions but when i right click on the dosbox and run as admin,it just says drive c doesnt exist.and when i try to mount games\carmenworld\ it says drive c is mounted as local directory.then,i typed c: and dir and several programs appear.when i try to type dosbox exe, it says program cannot be run in dos mode.what do i need to do coz i really want to play the game?tnx

i worked it out, i looked and i had the program code for a different carmen. i had america past. question do u have a website that i can download the where in the world is carmen sandiego deluxe the one on recommented site is a but it not a get it. only i have some other games on the recommed site and try to extract them and they didnt have the hole site in it. is this normal for that website?
