Anvil of Dawn is a 1995 RPG that sets you on the path of one of five different adventurers. You are fighting to save a kingdom and must navigate your way through dungeons with choices that lead to a variety of different endings unique to each character. It was one of the best games of of its genre when it was released and is still great even today. Lets pick up that sword and bow and get started!

Next Download & Install the Emulator Dosbox on Windows:

Go To: http://www.dosbox.com > Downloads Tab > Click the Windows version (Under the Dosbox category).

Next: Run the downloaded installer file and install Dosbox on your hard drive in the directory C:\Games\ADawn. Simply entering this will create these folders for you.

Next: Open the Games folder then the ADawn folder within it. Locate and then run Dosbox by double clicking on the Dosbox program icon.

Next: At the the command prompt in Dosbox type "config -writeconf dosbox.conf" and then press the "Enter" key.

Next: Type "exit" to exit Dosbox.

Now: Locate and right click on the Dosbox config file. Click "open with" & select notepad.

Finally: Scroll to the bottom. We are going to place some text below [autoexec]:

Abandonia: For those who downloaded the game Anvil of Dawn from Abandonia copy and paste the following text:

mount c c:\games\adawn
c:
cd anvil
anvil

XTC Abandonware: For those who downloaded the game Anvil of Dawn from XTC Abandonware copy and paste the following text:

mount c c:\games\adawn
c:
cd anvilod
anvil

Save and exit the config file when you are finished.

Now Lets Extract The Anvil of Dawn Free Game Download:

First: Right click on the Anvil of Dawn game file you downloaded to your hard drive and click on "Extract All".

Then: Click the "Next" button when the extractor launches. You will be asked where you would like to extract the Anvil of Dawn game files, select "C:\Games\ADawn" . When you're done click "Extract" and the Anvil of Dawn files will begin to extract.

A New Dawn!:

Click on the Dosbox program in the ADawn directory and the game Anvil of Dawn will start, have fun!
