The game has been ported many times onto different systems even including Nintendo's Wii Virtual Console. Although the PC version isn't the best edition it is still a lot of fun!
First Download the Free Game Altered Beast:
Choose from one of the following sites.

Mr Old Games : Download Game : Download InstructionsThe House of Games : Download Game : Download InstructionsNext Download & Install the Emulator Dosbox on Windows:
Go To: http://www.dosbox.com > Downloads Tab > Click the Windows version (Under the Dosbox category)
Next: Run the downloaded installer file and install Dosbox on your hard drive in the directory C:\Games\ABeast. Simply entering this will create these folders for you.
Next: Open the Games folder then the ABeast folder within it. Locate and then run Dosbox by double clicking on the Dosbox program icon.
Next: At the the command prompt in Dosbox type "config -writeconf dosbox.conf" and then press the "Enter" key.
Next: Type "exit" to exit Dosbox.
Now: Locate and right click on the Dosbox config file. Click "open with" & select notepad.
Finally: With the dosbox config file open scroll to the bottom. We are going to place some text below [autoexec]:
Abandonia: For those who downloaded the game Altered Beast from Abandonia copy and paste the following text:
mount c c:\games\abeast
c:
cd abeast
abeast
XTC Abandonware: For those who downloaded the game Altered Beast from XTC Abandonware copy and paste the following text:
mount c c:\games\abeast
c:
beasty
Save and exit the config file when you are finished.
Now Lets Extract the Altered Beast Free Game Download:
First: Right click on the Altered Beast game file you downloaded to your hard drive and click on "Extract All".
Then: Click the "Next" button when the extractor launches. You will be asked where you would like to extract the Altered Beast game files, select "C:\Games\ABeast" . When you're done click "Next" again and the files will begin to extract.
Ready, Set, Fight!:
Double click on the Dosbox program in the "C:\Games\ABeast" folder and the game Altered Beast will launch. You will then see a screen titled "Altered Beast Install Routine". At this point press "5" and then "8" and then press "enter". The game will now start with the best sound and graphics options, enjoy!
