Question:
With DOTT The cutscenes run the audio with no subtitles, but the in game runs no voice but has subtitles

How do i make it so you have sound AND subtitles on both?

Thanks for the compliments :). I will try to pick up a bunch of games on eBay and these titles will easily be among them as they are defiantly some of the best.

Happy Gaming!
Glenn

This is the floppy disk version so unfortunately they left out the character voice audio in game. I will try to pick up a copy of the CD-ROM edition and do a separate guide as it defiantly is the better way of experiencing the game.

Best,
Glenn

I wasn't able to extract the files. I right clicked on the folder, but Extract All... wasn't one of the options. What should I do?

Glenn Scrima said...

Hi Jordan, I would just use a regular zip program such as winzip. You can get it at any of the major software download sites such as download.com.

Glenn

Thanks man! What a great guide. I haven't played this game in over 10 years! Keep up the great work!

Glenn Scrima said...

Hi in response to the first message above, it sounds like the games files didn't extract into the right folder. When it is unable to use the cd, "change directory" command it means that directory doesn't exist within the one that contains Dosbox. I'd give extracting the game files a second try and just double check and make sure the file path given on the guide is the same you use to extract the game.

Best,
Glenn

For DOTT and all the other (2d) Lucas Arts Adventures (as well as for a lot of other adventures) I recommand ScummVM. It's an excellent piece of software, and it makes all those games run at least as good as they did in DOS. Also it supports Windows, Linux, Mac OS and much more.

same problem as above!!!!

Glenn Scrima said...

Hi it sounds like the zip file didn't extract or extract correctly creating the dtentacle folder. Try to locate the tentacle.exe file though and if its there let me know the folder its in.

Best,
Glenn

Hi,
I have installed everything as instructed. Is there any way to run the game with windows 7 64 bit? As there is an error message which wants a 64 bit-version of the game.
Thanks for your help!

Any solution for the sound yet? Can you download soundblaster and make it work?

Also, do you have a good place to find the manual?

Woot.
