Detroit Game Free Download & Install Guide

First Download the Free Detroit Game:

Choose from one of the following sites.

Next Download & Install the Emulator Dosbox:

Go To: http://www.dosbox.com > Downloads Tab > Click the Windows version (Under the Dosbox category)

Next: Run the downloaded installer file and install Dosbox on your hard drive in the directory C:\Games\Detroit. Simply entering this will create these folders for you.

Next: Open the Games folder then the Detroit folder within it. Locate and then run Dosbox by double clicking on the Dosbox program icon.

Next: At the the command prompt in Dosbox type "config -writeconf dosbox.conf" and then press the "Enter" key.

Next: Type "exit" to exit Dosbox.

Now: Locate and right click on the Dosbox config file. Click "open with" & select notepad.

Finally: With the dosbox config file open scroll to the bottom. We are going to place some text below [autoexec]:

mount c c:\games\detroit
c:
detroit

Save and exit the config file when you are finished.

Now Lets Extract the Detroit Free Game Download:

First: Right click on the Detroit game file you downloaded to your hard drive and click on "Extract All".

Then: Click the "Next" button when the extractor launches. You will be asked where you would like to extract the Detroit game files, select "C:\Games\Detroit" . When you're done click "Next" again and the Detroit files will begin to extract.

Building an Empire:

Double click on the Dosbox program in the "C:\Games\Detroit" folder and the game Detroit will launch. At this point the game is fully installed and playable however the sound is shut off by default. To enable the sound, while in the game, click on the "Administration" button.

At the next screen bring the mouse pointer over the file drawers in the Administration office and click on them.

In the "File Menu" click on the "Configure" button. You will see both "Sound" and "Music" buttons in the "Configure" menu with "Off" next to them. Click on each of these buttons to turn them to "On". Click the "Done" Button when you are finished.
