Everything went smoothly until I got to "Now Let's Extract the Game File".....I don't have a game file on my hard drive at all. Or I can't find it. What did I do wrong? Please help!
Thank you,
Rachel

Hi Rachel, are you using Windows Vista? If you are Microsoft changed the default download location in Vista to the Downloads folder. To access it click the start button at the bottom left of the screen then in the upper right part of the menu that pops up you will see your screen name. Click on your screen name and a window will pop up. In the window you should see a folder titled Downloads. The game file should be saved to that folder.

Best,
Glenn

I downloaded everything it said, and I have found the files, but when I click to open dosbox, nothing happens.
whats going on?

Hi check and see if the commands in the dosbox config file are in the right section ( [autoexec] ). When Dosbox launches what comes up above the c:> prompt. Are there any error messages or nothing at all.

hi,

when i go to treasure mathstorm and i get to the club sign in thing it only lets me be the guest or else it freezes and when i swing my net at elves the game freezes what should i do?

Glenn Scrima said...

Hi this could be an issue with the current version of Dosbox. I would try installing an earlier version such as 0.65 . Sometimes updates can fix some issues but create new ones at the same time.

Hi -

When I opened the SSTM folder after saving it as C:\Games\SSTM I couldn't find the Dosbox file to open in Notepad.

Help!

Thanks

Hi the config file access in the new version of Dosbox changed. I am updating all the guides on the site to take this into account but in the meantime I have a guide on how to fix this.

Hi Glenn
I was having some problems getting the game to run. I extracted the files and did the mounts and all that but i suppose it has something to do with my DOSBOX being mounted to Duke3D and me changing the mount to SSTM. Well the line for SSTM didnt work so i just used TMS and when i did it just came back with "Tresure Mathstorm! Not found on this drive" It's only on my C drive so im not to sure whats going on. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you,
David

Hi David, did you extract both downloaded files (the game zip and Dosbox) to c:\games\sstm? Also which site did you download the game from?

Best,
Glenn

DavidC. said...

Hi Glenn thanks for the reply. I extracted the game. I already had the DOSBOX. Im guessing they both go in the same folder then? They're on the same drive and everything at the moment in a folder marked "Duke3d" (i was using your Duke Nukem 3D guide a while back)

DavidC. said...

sorry i forgot to put the site. It was Abandonia i think is how it was spelled.

Glenn Scrima said...

Hi David, yes they both need to be in c:\games\sstm.

Glenn,

Need some help. I used your guide to download Treasure Mountain and it worked perfect. I then went back and used your guide to download Treasure Mathstorm - but now neither will play on my computer. When I open the dosbox no game comes up. Not sure if I can download both onto my computer??
Thanks,
Tali
