Return of the Phantom PC Game Free Download & Install Guide: Windows XP & Windows Vista (Using Dosbox Emulation)

Note: Playing this game requires the booklet. This can be found on the Return of the Phantom page at Abandonia. Under the section labeled "Extras" there will be a link labeled "Manual". Please download or print this pdf version of the manual or use your own copy if you have one as it will be needed to play the game.



First Download Return of the Phantom:

Choose from one of the following sites.

Next Download & Install the Emulator Dosbox on Windows XP or Windows Vista:

Go To: http://www.dosbox.com > Downloads Tab > Click the Windows version (Under the Dosbox category)


Next: Run the downloaded installer file and install Dosbox on your hard drive in the directory C:\Games\ROTPhantom. Simply entering this will create these folders for you.



Next: Open the Games folder then the ROTPhantom folder within it. Locate and right click on the Dosbox config file. Click "open with" & select notepad.


Finally: With the dosbox config file open scroll to the bottom. We are going to place some text below [autoexec]:

mount c c:\games\rotphantom
c:
cd return~1
cd phantom
phantom

Save and exit the config file when you are finished.


Now Lets Extract The Game File:

First: Right click on the game file you saved to your hard drive and click on "Extract All".


Then: Click the "Next" button when the extractor launches. You will be asked where you would like to save the extracted files, select "C:\Games\ROTPhantom". When you're done click "Next" again and the files will begin to extract.



Phantom of the Opera:


Double click on the Dosbox program in the "C:\Games\ROTPhantom" folder and the game Return of the Phantom will launch, enjoy!
