Note: Playing the Abandonia version of this game requires the booklet. This can be found on the Manhunter - New York page at Abandonia. Under the section labeled "Extras" there will be a link labeled "Field Guide". Please download or print this pdf version of the manual or use your own copy if you have one as it will be needed to play the game. The XTC Abandonware version of the game does not need the "Field Guide" to play the game.

Next Download & Install the Emulator Dosbox on Windows XP or Windows Vista:

Go To: http://www.dosbox.com > Downloads Tab > Click the Windows version (Under the Dosbox category)


Next: Run the downloaded installer file and install Dosbox on your hard drive in the directory C:\Games\ManhunterNY. Simply entering this will create these folders for you.



Next: Open the Games folder then the ManhunterNY folder within it. Locate and then run Dosbox by double clicking on the Dosbox program icon.


Next: At the the command prompt in Dosbox type "config -writeconf dosbox.conf" and then press the "Enter" key.


Next: Type "exit" to exit Dosbox.


Now: Locate and right click on the Dosbox config file. Click "open with" & select notepad.


Finally: With the dosbox config file open scroll to the bottom. We are going to place some text below [autoexec]:

Abandonia: For those who downloaded the Manhunter - New York game from Abandonia copy and paste the following text:

mount c c:\games\manhunterny
c:
cd sierra
mh

XTC Abandonware: For those who downloaded the Manhunter - New York game from XTC Abandonware copy and paste the following text:

mount c c:\games\manhunterny
c:
sierra

Save and exit the config file when you are finished.


Now Lets Extract The Manhunter - New York Free Game Download:

First: Right click on the Manhunter - New York game file you downloaded to your hard drive and click on "Extract All".


Then: Click the "Next" button when the extractor launches. You will be asked where you would like to extract the Manhunter - New York game files, select "C:\Games\ManhunterNY". When you're done click "Next" again and the files will begin to extract.

Double click on the Dosbox program in the "C:\Games\ManhunterNY" folder and the game Manhunter will launch, enjoy!
