EA Confirmation of Plans to Bring Apex Legends to Mobile Devices

The publisher is negotiating, so Apex Legends can launch in China.

Battle royale fever arrived after the golden era of MOBA and survival sandbox games passed. When this genre is discussed, several titles will immediately come to mind. And we know, the popularity of PUBG and Fortnite helped encourage many giant franchise owners to help put the last man standing mode in their creations. But the battle royale is arguably just really popular since the publisher provides its mobile version.

Earlier this year, not only the gaming industry spread its wing to going mobile, but the online casino industry also moving forward by releasing a mobile version of a slot machine. A casual game like slot online mobile is getting a lot of attention from many online gambling addicts from all around the world. In order to not left behind, this mobile technology is indeed needed.

Following rumors circulating some time ago, Electronic Arts finally confirmed its plans to bring Apex Legends on mobile devices, following the steps of the PUBG Corporation and Epic Games. This news was revealed directly by CEO Andrew Wilson at the company’s revenue presentation on May 7, yesterday, and its status is under development. Perhaps this is a form of the publisher’s strategy to reverse the situation related to disappointing company earnings.

Andrew Wilson said that they are very eager to welcome everything that awaits Apex Legends in the future. The player community is very active, and in response, EA prepared many “big agendas to enrich the game world.” Some of the steps they took included developing the mobile version and holding talks to launch Apex Legends in China.

But when EA had to collaborate with Chinese companies to release Apex Legends in the region, the publisher was given the freedom to market games in South Korea without the need for partnerships. South Korea is one of the biggest gaming markets in the world, and for Wilson, Apex Legends gives them the opportunity to build connections with players there. He also hopes that other EA games will follow similar success.

For Electronic Arts, Apex Legends is the fastest growing game they have. It only took less than a month for this battle royale game to embrace 50 million more players. Wilson also reported that about 30 percent of Apex Legends gamers turned out to be ‘new EA users.’ This can give us an idea of the magnitude of the game services in attracting consumers to Electronic Arts services.

As EA had said, their focus now is to strengthen long-term plans, for example, through the update ‘season‘ and Battle Pass content, the introduction of new legendary figures, and periodic updates on the game ecosystem. Also, we know how Respawn and EA continue to perfect the technical aspects of the game and tirelessly fight against cheaters and hackers. Not long ago, the developer reportedly successfully netted more than 700 thousand cheaters.
