Alone In The Dark Game Free Download & Install Guide

Note: The Abandonia copy of Alone in the Dark is the CD version of the game. The three other sites contain the floppy disk version of the game for download.

First Download The Free Game Alone In The Dark:

Next Download & Install the Emulator Dosbox on Windows:

Go To: http://www.dosbox.com > Downloads Tab > Click the Windows version (Under the Dosbox category). 

Next: Run the downloaded installer file and install Dosbox on your hard drive in the directory C:\Games\Alone. Simply entering this will create these folders for you.

Next: Open the Games folder then the Alone folder within it. Locate and then run Dosbox by double clicking on the Dosbox program icon.

Next: At the the command prompt in Dosbox type "config -writeconf dosbox.conf" and then press the "Enter" key.

Next: Type "exit" to exit Dosbox.

 

Now: Locate and right click on the Dosbox config file. Click "open with" and select notepad.

Finally: With the dosbox config file open scroll to the bottom. We are going to place some text below [autoexec]:

Abandonia: For those who downloaded the game Alone In The Dark from Abandonia copy and paste the following text:

mount c c:\games\alone
imgmount d c:\games\alone\aitd\cd\alone1.cue -t iso
c:
cd aitd\indark
indark

XTC Abandonware: For those who downloaded the game Alone In The Dark from XTC Abandonware copy and paste the following text:

mount c c:\games\alone
c:
cd alone
alonecrk

The House of Games: For those who downloaded the game Alone In The Dark from The House of Games copy and paste the following text:

mount c c:\games\alone
c:
tatou

Save and exit the config file when you are finished.


Now Lets Extract The Alone In The Dark Free Game Download:
 
First: Right click on the Alone In The Dark game file you downloaded to your hard drive and click on "Extract All".

Then: Click the "Next" button when the extractor launches. You will be asked where you would like to extract the Alone In The Dark game files, select "C:\Games\Alone". When you're done click "Extract" and the Alone In The Dark files will begin to extract.

Lights Out!:

Click on the Dosbox program in the Alone directory and the game Alone In The Dark will start, enjoy!
